So far though, the bill has only cleared its first hurdle after the Senate State and Local Government Committee voted to send the casino bill to the full Senate. The vote in committee was 7 to 4. There was one tweak to the bill so that now no casino has to be built at a racetrack. |

Ann Nichols says the hop allows local artists to sell their work without paying out a commission. An Arts Commission membership is required, but you are not required to live in Boyle County. They said they made the decision in a vote last Thursday, but that they still have to work out all the fine points. |
| 2012-02-21T14:16:00.001-08:00 3 Busted Garrard County and Lancaster law enforcement raided a house on Sunday on Fall Lick Road and three people were arrested on weapons and drug related charges. Cops got a warrant and found an assault rifle, and an indoor marijuana grow operation. Police arrested 21 year old Ebony Black, and 26 year old Cody Morgan, both of Lancaster, and 28 year old Jeffery Moore of Stanford on the charges. While Black bonded out of the Lincoln County Regional Jail, Moore and Morgan were still in as of Tuesday. |
| 2012-02-21T14:06:00.001-08:00 No Decision on Powers, But Another Meeting Set Fifty people in attendance, some spoke for and some against Lancaster mayor Brenda Powers, and when it was over -- after shouting and yelling during a closed door session, the only thing decided was that there'd be another meeting on March 5. Powers and the council agreed to set Monday night's meeting to discuss how the city was being lead. Powers reiterated her stance in the middle of the discussion that she would not resign as mayor, saying the people put her there. Then there was an executive session, and a decision to meet again on the fifth, 7 p.m., city hall. |

Tyler now goes on to the state competition at Churchill Downs as part of the Derby Festival in April. |

COPY: Jack Strunk lives in Garrard County, but recently grabbed the attention of Laredo, Texas. He defended the border town on Youtube after a viral video first bashed the area and its people. Strunk, who lived in Laredo before moving back home to Kentucky, says he only posted the video because he thought it was right. Along with naming Monday for the Kentucky man, Laredo official also served up some of his favorite tex-mex food. |
